Statement of Purpose

Pro Choice Care is registered to provide support and care for adults over the age of 18, including elderly and those with learning disabilities, and/or mental health needs.  The area we cover is Cwmbran and surrounding area.

Our Registered Manager has 25 years experience in the Care setting.  She is qualified to NVQ Level 4 in Care and has achieved the RMA in management.  She also holds level 2 and 3 in NVQ in care, has a HNC in Social Care and has qualifications in Risk Management.  In addition to this she has at least 10 years management experience and has been vetted and registered by CSSIW.

The majority of our staff have direct experience of managing challenging behaviour within a learning disabilities and mental health discipline. We are also insured for public, employer and professional liability.  Risk Assessment is extremely important to safeguard our service users and staff. Therefore, the Company undertakes thorough personal, as well as Health and Safety Risk Assessments to protect all those in our care, and those who support them.

The aim of the organisation is to empower individuals to live independently within the local community.

The fees we charge for our service is identified in the fee breakdown at the end of this brochure.

The practices we adopt to meet our stated purpose are to commit to conform with the Minimum Standards as laid down by the Care Standards Act 2000.  To achieve this we incorporate these standards into our Policies and Procedures Manual which are annually reviewed and inspected by the relevant contracting authority.  We also undertake an internal quality assurance audit through Stakeholder feedback. The Company has adopted a Person Centred Planning approach and Continued Personal Development programme to ensure the highest standards are achieved and maintained in our service delivery.

The circumstance in which Pro Choice Care Limited will no longer be able to offer support services to service users is bankruptcy of the organisation.

The arrangements for cancellation of the support services by Pro Choice Care Limited are in the event of verbal or physical abuse towards our staff, or non compliance with fee paying.

Pro Choice Care Limited guarantees to supply adequate support during periods of Support Worker absence or sickness.  Cover is arranged by the senior member of staff of duty.  Staff Rota’s are available to all service users, relatives, visiting professionals, Social Services and CSSIW.

The Company has a comprehensive Complaints Procedure.  Pro Choice Care Limited has policies in place covering the financial protection and security of Service Users and their property.

The Company also has a thorough policy and procedures relating to the administration or assistance with medication, which is detailed in Section 4.6.6 of the Policies and Procedures Manual.  Pro Choice Care also possesses a rigorous Health & Safety Policy, which can be found in the Health & Safety Manual, which are both kept in the office.

The Company's Management Structure of the Agency is detailed in Section 2.1 of the Policies and Procedures Manual.  Procedures are also in place in the event of absence of the Registered Manager and are detailed in Section 3.6. of the Policies and Procedures Manual, both of which can be obtained from the company’s offices.  In the absence of the Registered Manager for more than 28 days, you will be notified in writing of the replacement in case you have any concerns.

In the event of your regular support worker being not available, Pro Choice Care Limited will only supply staff vetted by the Company.
